Staff: Project Zero Research Team

Researchers:

Liz Dawes holds a B.A. from Oxford University, U.K., and a post-graduate teaching certificate from the Institute of Education,University of London. She is currently completing an Ed M. at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Liz has seven years of experience as a high school history teacher, both in the U.K. and Australia. At Project Zero she has been focusing on the assessment of interdisciplinary work at the collegiate and precollegiate levels.

Steven McAlpine holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an Ed M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. A former member of the music faculty at the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, Steven has worked as a private music teacher, after-school program director, and as a visiting artist in schools. Steven's research at Project Zero focuses on the role of the arts in understanding when combined with other disciplines.

Matthew Miller received a B.A. from Yale University and an Ed M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is a doctoral candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a recipient of a multiyear Spencer Foundation research fellowship. Matt is former assistant dean for administration of the UCLA graduate division and a former middle-school English teacher. He is a current member of the instructional design team for Harvard's interdisciplinary core curriculum for educators. Matt's research focuses on the cognitive dimensions of interdisciplinary learning.

Alison Rhodes holds a B.A. in Sociology from Brandeis University and an Ed M. in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Before joining the project she worked as an exhibitions designer for a children's museum in Mexico City, and has taught visual art, music, dance, and theater to students ranging from preschool to high school. Alison's research at Project Zero focuses on intellectual identities in interdisciplinary contexts and the intersection of the arts and other disciplines.
