A current PZ Fellow and Ph.D. candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Ben researches the youth migrant experience.
PZ Work
Ben draws on qualitative methods to study how youth migrants and youth in communities without migration imagine their future and how schools shape their views of the future. His current project focuses on the experiences of youth in Northern Colombia and youth from the same region who have migrated to Massachusetts.
Beyond PZ
Broadly, Ben is interested in how schools can support young people's wellbeing over time. Before starting his doctoral studies in the Culture, Institutions, and Society concentration, Ben was a high school teacher in Boston Public Schools, where he served as a Knowles Teacher Fellow, working to improve math and science instruction with a national cohort of fellows.
