PZ Work
Tavis is research director at Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He currently co-leads the Learning as a Practice of Healing and Becoming Project. He is actively building lines of inquiry at Project Zero to explore mindfulness, music, and the arts in education.
Beyond PZ
Prior to coming to Project Zero, Tavis was a lecturer in Music Education at Boston University. He is also founding director of Creative Inquiry Labs, an education organization exploring ways creative practice, contemplative practice, and inquiry can support learning and healing. Tavis received his PhD in education from the University of Washington, Seattle in 2016.
Where to Find Tavis
Tavis enjoys exploring the world with his son Kai, playing guitar, writing poetry, and flying hang gliders. He is an ordained member of the Core Plum Village Community founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. He lives with his family in Arlington, Massachusetts.
